Biomechanics/Physical Therapy

Biomechanics helps you better understand strengths, weaknesses and dysfunctions that we all have. Physical Therapy helps active or inactive individuals recover from injury, pain or dysfunction by improving strength, flexibility, and mobility to restore or facilitate normal or accelerated function and development.

  • Bio-mechanical Analysis. A trained, biomechanical expert will analyze your body’s movement, strengths, dysfunctions, flexibility, pain, what it means, and what you can do about it. May include video analysis while you are doing your sport.
  •
  • State-of-the-art testing and consultation services related to an active lifestyle include:
    • Acute and chronic sports injury prevention and rehabilitation
    • Chronic or acute pain rehabilitation
    • Podiatry and foot insoles
    • Prosthesis Evaluation and adjustment
    • Sport-specific Bio-mechanical Analysis and Evaluation
    • Strength training techniques demonstration specific to your sport

Physiological & Fitness Assessment

We assess your exercise history, physiological response to exercise, and provide goal-specific-testing to design the right exercise and nutritional program for you.

  • Lactate Clearing Efficiency Test (LCET). The lactate clearing efficiency test provides your correct heart rate and power or pace training zones that are based on your individual physiology and current fitness level. By knowing your accurate training zones, you can effectively plan your exercise and physical training to improve your aerobic endurance and train without overtraining.
  •
  • Power Profiling. The measurement of peak power outputs corresponding to specific aerobic and anaerobic indices will indicate your individual strengths and weaknesses. This information will be used to develop an appropriate training plan for an event where you are expected to maximize your performance.
  •
  • VO2 max. VO2 max testing is a good indicator of your aerobic fitness and potential for endurance performance. Most athletes choose the VO2 max test as a baseline and will repeat it to test the effectiveness of their training on their aerobic capacity.
  •
  • Wingate Testing. This test measures peak anaerobic power and anaerobic capacity during an all-out 30-second effort. This test is highly beneficial for cyclists and strength/power athletes.
  •
  • Graded Exercise Test or Stress Test (GXT, EKG). This test measures your cardiac function with increasing exercise intensity. For guests who have elevated cardiac risk factors, a Physician will supervise the test. Data will help us determine your cardiovascular disease status.

Nutrition & Energy Balance Management

  • Metabolic Calorie Efficiency Test (MCET). The MCET measures the amount of calories, carbohydrates and fats you burn through a series of heart rate and power or pace intensities so that we can help you develop a highly accurate and individualized nutrition plan for training and competition. Because the variables in this test will change as your fitness changes, we recommend having the MCET performed periodically throughout the year.
  •
  • Body Fat Testing. We can accurately measure the amount of fat and lean muscle mass. Body fat is a better indicator of health and fitness than total body weight and is recommended by our staff more than watching the numbers on the bathroom scale.
  •
  • RMR (Resting Metabolic Rate) Assessment. If you need to lose weight or prevent weight gain, this is the service for you. This includes everything that a Nutrition Evaluation does with the addition of measuring your individual Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR). The only way to know how much you need to eat to lose weight or prevent weight gain is by knowing how many calories your body needs each day.
  •
  • Nutrition Assessment. This includes a meeting with our nutritionist as well as a comprehensive, computerized analysis of your current diet. Our nutrition specialist will interpret your current eating plan and help you set realistic and attainable objectives for the performance and health related goals that you have.

Psychological Assessment

Structured interviews with doctorate-level psychology practitioners who review psychosocial history, relationships, career, and goals.

The Emergenetics Profile was developed to help others improve interpersonal relationships by using a test that helped people understand some common thinking styles and types of behaviors. EP measures four thinking preferences (Analytical, Structural, Social, and Conceptual) and three behaviors (Expressiveness, Assertiveness, and Flexibility).
  •
  • Performance-Health Profile. The Performance-Health Profile identifies the psychosocial factors that help individuals withstand the adverse effects of daily stress. This Profile provides targeted information about specific lifestyle and health behaviors that might be contributing to stress-related illnesses for particular individuals. This convenient self-report inventory includes 15 scales and generates scores expressed as Health Risk Alerts and Health Protection Resources. A 24 page report provides detailed treatment recommendations that give the individual specific steps to take in order to reduce stress and maximize heath.
  •
  • Mental Health Counseling and Performance Psychology. Biofeedback, depression and anxiety screenings, pre performance routines, post performance evaluations, focusing, imagery, internal dialoguing are all available to guests looking to optimize their mental and emotional wellbeing as an individual, or competitor/performer.
